The ophthalmologists listed in the Directories are sympathetic to treating eye floaters surgically with surgical vitrectomy, with laser vitreolysis or with pharmacological vitrectomy.

These treatment methods are not considered standard management approaches for eye floaters and there is controversy about their use. Patients should always wait a period of time to see if their floaters settle naturally and should only consider surgical intervention if their situation is intolerable and they have tried more conservative management approaches, please see our support page.

Inclusion in the Directory should not be considered an endorsement of particular individuals or approaches and you must personally be happy with your physician before agreeing to any treatment; see our Questions for your doctor page for some suggestions on how to make this assessment.
