One Clear Vision is the leading English-speaking charity for sufferers of Degenerative Vitreous Syndrome in the world and we have an international remit.
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Chair and a Charity Secretary to join our board of trustees on a voluntary basis (up to 2 years renewable).
We are at a very exciting and challenging time in the development of the organisation and we are seeking two exceptional individuals who are keen to help us achieve our vision, goals and strategy going forward.
As Chair you will provide effective leadership and management to the board of trustees, enabling them to fulfill their responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, and ensuring that appropriate decisions are correctly made. You will work in partnership with the chief executive officer and charity secretary to ensure that trustee decisions are acted upon and the charity is managed effectively.
As Secretary you will oversee the compliance with various legislative and regulatory requirements affecting the charity and its activities and ensure that the trustees’ decisions are acted upon; that all decisions made by the trustees are in accordance with the governing document, reflect the objects of the charity, and continue to provide public benefit. You will ensure that effective measures, controls and procedures are put in place, and are appropriate for the charity. As a trustee, you will play a full strategic role in the running of our organisation.
If you are excited by the prospect of working for a pioneering and innovative health organisation and have a strong background in business and management, are methodical and confident and can spare around two to three days a month, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss the role in greater detail with you.
We are looking for talented individuals as trustees with experience in one or more of the following areas:
• public health commissioning and service provision
• fundraising, networking and major donors
• strategic finance
• medical research
These positions are home-based, with occasional meetings in the London area.
